Attention Pugs of Kingston Ontario!!!

This summer Tiger Lou and Maple Walnut will be coming to Kingston and area as we are all moving. Any information about pugs or puggie related events would be much appreciated and of course we would love to hear from any other pugs about things such as good socializing areas and good walking trails where pugs are accepted. We try and incorporate the pugs into as many aspects of our life as possible and would love a heads start in being able to that in Kingston. I know it's been more than a month since I've last writen anything but all is well the pugs are doing well and we're trying to finish the renovations that we had started on the house in order to get the house on the market. My Dad who is already in KIngston has been scoutng out the area and recently went to the sportsman show at which he met members of the pugalug rescue center and some of the pugs from there which is great to hear because they do wonderful work. Well there's alot more to do tonight so I'm going to sign off for now and hopefully there wont be as big a gap between this and the next post. Looking foreward to hearing from everyone.

hi, I l0ve how your blog writes about the realities of pug ownership. Like battling with itchy skin issues etc. Does Lou have pimples and dandruff? So how is his skin now and what do you do to keep it good? I am suffering from pug skin probs too.
    Thanks

Lou does get pimples and has dandruff as well. However before Lou was even six months old I noticed that his belly was becoming darker and almost scab like in one patch and same with all of his armpits so the the vet changed his diet and he was fine for a while when he was one and a half his rash had gotten really bad and wouldn't go away so we took him into the vets and they recomended allergy testing it's not cheap but in Lou's case it was worth it he's allergic to about 17 different things and many of which were in his food. Once we were able to eliminate most of the stuff the rash went away but came back with a vengence during this spring and we had to get him one some benalyn which the vet recommended he only gets this one days when the itching is really bad because prolonged exposure to antihistamines can result in the body being dependant on it. He gets his faced washed everyday because due to the allergies his eyes are extra watery and his ears are cleaned once or twice a week because he gets extra build up ( i think this to is due to allergies) otherwise he gets yeast infections in his ears. We had to get the vet to show us how to properly clean his ears because I wasn't doing it right. Lou's skin we most likely never be perfect but he's doing good and his allergies are undercontrol so I think he's fairly comfortable as is if you have anymore questions feel free to leave another comment I always love to hear from people
